New Name and Higher Expectations
Cameron Park Computer Services is now Cyber Safety Net.
Yes. Expectations are higher these days. It used to be “Mark, keep my computer alive!” Now, its “Protect the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of my network, data and reputation.” That is what I do. I’ve been doing this since 1992.
The phone numbers, web page addresses and email addresses you have on file are still valid. Thank you everybody for your support.
Proactivity is a Good Thing
Mark Anthony Germanos
What is happening to you? Your network is slow and unstable. Your cameras do not work always work. You have intrusive PCI and HIPAA compliance burdens. You have no idea how you would recover from ransomware or any kind of disaster. Since you’re still reading this, I would bet good $$ things are failing you. You spend precious time troubleshooting your computers when you should spend that time growing your business and serving your clients. Most of my new business comes from business owners who have incurred too much pain and “just want things to work right.” I’ve been doing this in the Sacramento region since 2002. You run your business. I run your network. Everybody is happy.
Proactive maintenance helps you save money. “How?” you may ask. Maybe I should answer this with a story.
My first client was a highly respected professor. He did not practice proactive maintenance. He bought a new Lexis and drove it 10,000 miles. One day, it wouldn’t start. He called the dealer and told them to tow it to their shop. A serviceman called him a few hours later and asked “Sir, when was the last time you changed the oil?” He replied “WHAT?”
Yes, You know what happened. I see the same thing happen with computers and networks. Business owners ignore proactive maintenance. They wait until something fails, they panic and then they call “the computer guy” and ask for a miracle.
Successful businesses are more proactive. They proactively maintain what they have and also look for new technologies that can help them become more efficient. Growing a business is not easy.
Proactive maintenance and embracing new technologies helps you become successful. Reactive maintenance and ignoring new technologies…helps your competition become more successful, at your expense.
Outsourcing Frees You Up
“Do what you do best and outsource the rest,” said Peter Drucker. Outsourcing can offer greater budget flexibility and control. Outsourcing lets you pay for only the services you need, when you need them.
It also reduces the need to hire and train specialized staff, brings in fresh engineering expertise, and reduces capital and operating expenses.
Have you identified what you do best? If you could do network support and cloud migrations, you would probably already be doing this for a living. Network support and cloud migrations are tasks you can outsource.
Anybody can do this, right?
Glad you asked. Some folks out there print a business card, build a website and say they can do this. Stay away. You are running a business. You are successful because you have developed expertise in your field. I have expertise in the network management field. I have been doing this since 1991. I have technology certifications from CompTIA, Microsoft, and EC-Council. You need to vet your network manager and his company. Make them prove they know what they’re doing.
I started training back in 1992. I trained bankers, lawyers and their assistants how to use computers. They were happy because they could do their jobs. Their employers were happy because their staffs could become more efficient.
If you’ve been doing this as long as I have, you probably have written a book or two. I have written four. See https://howhackshappen.com.
New is Good
Successful business owners have an ambitious embrace of new technology. The opposite is also true.
Successful businesses see how a new technology can benefit their staff. For example, giving your remote users smart phone and a corporate mailbox can help you reduce idle time on the phone while also increasing the accuracy and speed of communication.
The Return far exceeds your investment. You just need someone to train your newest tool. Be it smart phone e-mail, accessing a cloud server or just using their Microsoft Office products more heavily, I can help.
