Sacramento SEO company shares tips for getting on page one

Since everybody is trying to get more business from the Internet, I want to present three tips that will help you become more prominent in Google searches. They help my Sacramento SEO company. They can help your company too. These three tips are:

  1. Make your company name close to your Internet domain name
  2. Put your key phrases in your page title
  3. Never purge a page

Tip #1: make your company name match your Internet domain name. A company I bought in 2002 is Cameron Park Computer Services and sure enough, I registered the domain name cameronparkcomputer.com. The domain makes sense, since that is close to the company name. It also works because when folks go to Google and search for “cameron park computer,” www.cameronparkcomputer.com appears at the top of the list. The same applies when they search for “cameron park computer help” and “computers in cameron park.”  If you are planning to change your company name or register a new Internet domain name, make sure they are close. This will pay off when people search for you online.

Tip #2: put your key phrases in your page title. When people search for a key phrase, they will get results showing the key phrase in bold. Searching for the key phrase “cameron park computer” will generate a list of entries all with “cameron park computer” in bold. In addition to the first entry at www.cameronparkcomputer.com, my other entries on page 1 are from Yelp, Facebook, Yahoo, LinkedIn, Yellowpages and Superpages. When you create profiles at online services, make sure your title is close to the key phrases you are targeting.

Tip #3: never delete a page. Google will eventually find all your pages and add them to its index. Google will present a link to a given page when it is a good fit for someone’s search. If you delete a page, the link will send people to an error message informing them the page they wanted is no longer available. Some of my pages that appear on page 1 of Google searches are more than three months old. My entries at Yahoo, Yellowpages and Superpages are so old I do not remember when I created them. Regardless, they still appear on page 1 of Google searches for “cameron park computer.” Never delete a page or profile promoting your business.

Best of all, you can invoke these strategies at no cost. The SEO benefits are obvious. Enjoy.
